On-Site Event Staff, Part-Time

metroConnections is seeking candidates to assist our program leads at events that we design, coordinate, and execute for our corporate clients.  These are immediate part-time (on call/as needed) positions.  Tasks and schedules for these positions will vary and can include late nights and weekends with most shifts averaging 3-4 hours in length.  The schedule is flexible, based on our event needs and your interest/availability.  Events primarily take place in the Twin Cities, with some events occurring outside the metro area and the ability to travel for those who are interested.

Position responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Greeting bus drivers and assisting attendees during the boarding and disembarking of event transportation.
  • Supporting program leads with on-site tasks prior to, during, and post event.
  • Overseeing and facilitating interactive and teambuilding activities, registration desks, line management, etc.
  • Assisting with event setups and teardowns, such as table décor (linens and centerpieces).

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Ability to maintain a presentable appearance as many events are performed in or adjacent to a corporate atmosphere.
  • Willingness to take direction from multiple managers or team members, as well as having a good understanding of whom to advise/consult in the event of conflicting directions.
  • Access to reliable personal transportation.
  • Access to internet and email for purposes of schedule communication.
  • Possess an outgoing personality.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and may exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push or otherwise move objects.
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time.
  • Regularly required to talk/hear.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience with on-site event execution.
