Mayo Clinic Transform Conference
Each year, Mayo Clinic Center for Innovation hosts Transform, a conference encouraging collaboration and conversation that leads to action. This three-day conference brings together patients, consumers, physicians, designers and industries around a common cause – transforming the experience and delivery of health care.

For this year’s event, metroConnections supported Mayo Clinic with a collaborative partnership, encompassing a range of services from strategic planning to tactical implementation.

To foster conversations and connections between the 700 attendees, Mayo Clinic wanted to create a large marketplace and networking area. The first step included valuable brainstorming meetings between Mayo Clinic and metroConnections. From this strategic springboard, the metroConnections team applied creativity to develop concepts for a unique event environment. After designing and refining solutions, metroConnections assisted Mayo Clinic in creating and branding “The Forum.” This onsite social hub became a destination environment and the main focal point of the conference.

The Transform theme and imagery was reflected in the event’s custom branded decor and staging. metroConnections’ design and fabrication professionals built custom furniture, large-scale set pieces and decorative elements that carried the event’s teardrop icon. This signature image was even incorporated into the lighting design for the main stage.

Transform’s top sponsor, Target Corporation, is also a metroConnections client and this existing relationship ensured we effectively supported their extensive involvement. metroConnections assisted with a live web stream from the conference featuring Target executives, created a custom-built kiosk for Target’s new Simplicity Challenge initiative, and helped coordinate the Target-sponsored Welcome Reception featuring audio visual support, presentations and custom branded elements. Our deep knowledge of both Mayo Clinic and Target allowed us to create a cocktail reception event that flowed smoothly between the Transform and Target brands, successfully kicking of the conference by showcasing true collaboration in action.
